So you may know by now that I live in Marietta, OH. Sternwheel capital of the US. It's fun to see these ships when they have their festival every September. Even more fun when the really big cruise versions show up in town. Most of the ones in use now are all diesel engine. The one in the picture above doesn't move anymore but it is, or used to be, steam powered. It was used to push barges up an down the Ohio River. It was a powerful beast for it's time.
Anyway, that's about it for now. I just stood there the other night, staring at it and daydreaming of different time and really, a different world. I think I'll visit there again and maybe try some writing. See how it goes.
